"For large groups consider a table hostess.  Each table hostess would provide the teapot, cup and saucer, a luncheon plate, a teaspoon, cream and sugar set, and a napkin.   We in bring in the food and the table hostess collects the pot of tea or pot of water and offers a choice of tea bags. Then she takes the first course of tea sandwiches and a plate of fruit, the second course of scones then the third course of petite sweets and English cookies (or other courses depending on the menu selected).  It really works out quite nicely that way.  We can provide the china service and staff for each table if you prefer at an additional charge.

Encourage all the ladies to wear a hat and white gloves have a pretty flower centerpiece at each table that is paid for out of the budget and goes home with the hostess for all her effort."


                

Cream Tea This Tea is Traditionally Served in the late morning. A pot of Strong Breakfast Tea accompanied by Scones with Fresh Berries, Jam, and Devonshire Cream $5.45   Garden Tea An American version of its English cousin, this tea is popular in the Spring. The tea was taken in the garden, hence a pitcher of iced tea with sugar rimmed glasses, assorted finger sandwiches, fresh seasonal fruit, and Italian cookies $7.65   Children's Tea Children traditionally took this tea in the nursery with their parents or nannies.  A cup of cocoa or spot of tea with lots of cream, raspberry jam, and cream cheese sandwiches or peanut butter and marshmallow cream, with gingersnap cookies and Devonshire cream $4.35   Afternoon Tea Also referred to as a Victorian or low tea, typically served in the late afternoon. Our variation includes: a pot of spinach and country paté with assorted crackers and bites of cheese.  Fresh fruit presentation, petite croissant sandwiches (tuna, or chicken salad) and a delightful finish of decadent sweets $9.85   High Tea Originally most popular among England's new "middle class". This tea was much heartier fair, distinctively different from the delicate victuals of afternoon tea. This menu might include welsh rabbit, meat pies, heartily potatoes, soups, salads, pints of ale and of course dessert.  Our version is somewhat different and can be just about anything from our special occasion menus and therefore is priced accordingly. Price varies   Assorted Tea Sandwiches (Recommend 3 per person)    (per dozen) $15.00   Assorted Petite Sweets (per dozen) $14.00   China Teacups, Saucers, Teaspoons and Linen Napkins    (per guest) $2.45   All tea prices include disposable cups, white plastic plates, plastic spoons, beverage napkin, and mints. Fresh flower centerpieces, table linens, and servers are also available upon request at additional charge.
